'Amka', which means to embrace is an artwork from my 'Unidentified' series. After reading a quote by Nikita Gill, I was inspired to create this piece. It reminded me that we all have insecurities, but instead of disliking our unique features, we should learn to accept and embrace them.

"My grandmother told me that all those physical imperfections you hate about yourself, all those things you have named curse are the same things someone will love about you one day. More than this, you carry your loved ones in your features, a great-grandmother you never met gave you your smile, an ancestor gifted you those eyes.

From your sweet crooked smile to the bump on your nose - all of these things are precisely what makes your beauty unique."

-Nikita Gill

Original artwork by Aashna Bawa.
